Position Objectives:
The Town of Eston is seeking a reliable, hands-on Seasonal Facilities & Recreation Worker to support operations at the AGT Community Centre (arena) during the winter season and
transition to fairgrounds and facilities maintenance during the summer months. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in well-maintained facilities, and works well
as part of a team. This is funded through a partnership agreement between the Town of Eston and the RM of Snipe Lake. No. 259
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities – Winter (Arena / Rink)
• Operate the Zamboni and assist with ice maintenance
• Perform cleaning and general facility upkeep
• Complete light maintenance and minor repairs
• Assist with event set-up/take-down as required
• Support safe, clean, and welcoming rink operations
Primary Responsibilities – Summer (Fairgrounds / Facilities)
• General upkeep and maintenance of fairgrounds and facilities
• Grounds maintenance (mowing, trimming, garbage removal, watering etc.)
• Baseball/Softball set up
• Assist with set-up/take-down for events and rentals
• Light maintenance and repairs as needed
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications & Skills
• Comfortable operating equipment
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends as scheduled
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Basic mechanical or maintenance experience is an asset
• Valid driver’s licence
Working Conditions
• Seasonal position with year-round hours (winter rink / summer fairgrounds)
• Physically active role; must be able to lift, bend, and work outdoors
